3 Definitions

Bearing terms and definitions in this standard are in accordance with the provisions of GB 6930.

4 Classification of rolling bearing structure types

4.1 Bearings are classified into:

a) Radial bearing - mainly used for rolling bearing bearing radial load, its nominal contact angle is from 0 to 45. According to the nominal contact angle, it is divided into:

1) Radial contact bearing - radial bearing with a nominal contact angle of 0;

2) Angular contact radial bearings - bearings with a nominal contact angle greater than 0 to 45.

b) Thrust bearing - mainly used for rolling bearing bearing axial load, its nominal contact angle is greater than 45 to 90. According to the difference of the nominal contact angle, it is divided into:

1) Axial contact bearing—thrust bearing with a nominal contact angle of 90;

2) Angular contact thrust bearing—thrust bearing with a nominal contact angle greater than 45 but less than 90;

4.2 Bearings are divided into:

a) Ball bearings - the rolling elements are balls;

b) Roller bearings - the rolling elements are rollers.

Roller bearings are divided into:

1) Cylindrical roller bearings - bearings whose rolling elements are cylindrical rollers;

2) Needle roller bearing - the rolling element is a needle roller bearing;

3) Tapered roller bearings - bearings whose rolling elements are tapered rollers;

4) Spherical roller bearings - the rolling elements are spherical roller bearings.

4.3 Bearings are divided into:

a) Self-aligning bearing - the raceway is spherical, which can adapt to the angular deviation and angular motion between the axis lines of the two raceways;

b) Non-aligning bearing (rigid bearing) - a bearing that can resist the angular deviation of the axis line between the raceways.

4.4 Bearings are divided into:

a) Single row bearings - bearings with one row of rolling elements;

b) Double row bearings - bearings with two rows of rolling elements;

c) Multi-row bearings - bearings with more than two rows of rolling elements and bearing loads in the same direction. Such as: three-row, four-row bearings.

4.5 Bearings are divided into:

a) Separable Bearings - Bearings with separable parts;

b) Non-separable bearing - a bearing in which the rings cannot be freely separated after the bearing is finally assembled.

4.6 Bearings can also be divided into various structural types according to their structural shapes (such as: with or without filling grooves, with or without inner and outer rings, the shape of the ferrule, the structure of the rib, and even with or without a cage, etc.).

See Appendix A for the classification of commonly used bearing structure types.

The bearing is listed in Appendix B according to the comprehensive classification structure diagram of the bearing load direction or nominal contact angle and the type of rolling element.

5 Rolling bearing size classification

Bearings are divided into:

a) Miniature bearings - bearings with a nominal outer diameter range of less than 26mm;

b) Small bearings - bearings with a nominal outer diameter ranging from 28 to 55 mm;

c) Small and medium-sized bearings—bearings with a nominal outer diameter ranging from 60 to 115 mm;

d) Medium and large bearings - bearings with a nominal outer diameter ranging from 120 to 190 mm;

e) Large bearings - bearings with a nominal outer diameter ranging from 200 to 430 mm;

f) Extra large bearings - bearings with a nominal outer diameter range of 430mm or more.
